About the Job
Wage Range $12.50-14.00/hour

In this position, you will be responsible for keeping each of our distinct craft brews flowing into cans, bottles and kegs while taking care of our world-famous barley pop.  This is a fast-paced, repetitive, physically demanding position that will require availability during a variety of shifts and occasional extended hours.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operate all bottling, canning and kegging machines
  • Build boxes for cans, mixed cases, and storage
  • Safely hand dip 22-ounce bottles in hot wax
  • Loading/unloading of bottling components on the filling line
  • Building, unloading, and moving pallets of kegs, cans and bottles of finished product
  • Routine cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Compliance with CIP standards
  • Light fork-lift work
  • Wrap pallets
  • Assist with warehouse operations as necessary such as cleaning, organizing, etc.

 

Non-Routine Responsibilities

  • Assist cellar in daily operations
  • Assist brew house in daily operations
  • Assist lab in daily operations
  • Assist Warehouse in daily operations
  • Helping with snow removal as needed

 

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Has a strong focus on quality, safety and efficiency
  • Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds, and maneuver 165 lb. kegs, repeatedly
  • Must be comfortable working on their feet, reaching over shoulders, twisting, turning, and squatting for over eight hours at a time
  • Works safely with chemicals of varying composition
  • Has the ability to follow directions and multi-task; can shift gears quickly to new tasks
  • Works independently as well as in a team environment
  • Has strong mechanical ability with problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Is able to work all shifts, additional hours and weekends as necessary
  • Has reliable transportation and is able to consistently arrive at work on time

This individual would work closely with the marketing team to collaborate on and execute marketing campaigns, create and measure social media strategies, content creation and copyrighting, digital marketing (SEO, Google Ads, email campaigns, blogs, etc), and photography/videography. Responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing Director to develop and implement overall social media strategy for Ska Brewing and post content according to strategy across all platforms. (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
  • Create and manage content calendars to support brand objectives and sales and marketing goals while maintaining social media budget.
  • Research and stay up to date on current trends, strategies, algorithms for social media platforms.
  • Create fun, interesting, witty and eye-catching content for all of our digital needs.
  • Manage all photo and video creation including planning, shooting, editing and uploading engaging content.
  • Collaborate with our graphic designer on new social media graphic designs, sales support assets, event posters, menus and promotional materials.
  • Create and post monthly blogs.
  • Create and manage email campaigns.
  • Attend all Ska Brewing events, post live, take photos/video and share across all social channels.
  • Monitor, moderate and engage the audiences. Respond to all conversations, comments and messages in a timely fashion.
  • Copyrighting, including digital newsletters, blog posts, occasional PR needs including management of our media database.
  • Track analytics.
  • Assist in other marketing tasks as needed.

About the Job

We are a seeking talented, enthusiastic, positive energy person to join our culinary team. The Container at Ska focuses on fresh, locally sourced, delicious food; made from scratch with lots of love. A passion for food and providing a great time to folks visiting the brewery is a must. This is an exempt salaried position.

Salary Range $41,000-50,000

Responsibilities:

  • Manages operations during scheduled shifts that include daily decision-making, staff support, guest interaction, scheduling, planning while upholding food safety standards, cleanliness, and product quality
  • Responsible for optimizing profits by controlling food and BOH labor costs, taking corrective action when needed; ensuring they conform to the annual budget on a monthly basis
  • Identifies operational opportunities to build sales and control costs; develop and implement plans to address opportunities.
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date manpower plan of staffing needs. Prepares schedules and ensures that areas of responsibility are staffed properly for all shifts.
  • Staffs, trains and develops BOH team members through ongoing feedback and coaching, establishment of performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews on a regular basis.
  • Works with General Manager to develop and implement and maintain all control systems to include: order guides, ordering, recipes, station check sheets, job descriptions, standard daily operating procedures, budget, inventory spreadsheets, inventory, bid sheets, training manual, scheduling
  • Holds BOH team accountable to following recipes creating a constant product by leading the team during peak service periods.
  • As needed: coordinate written/verbal disciplinary actions/termination with human resources department
  • Demonstrates responsibility for purchasing, receiving and storing food products, inspection of local suppliers, use of correct products and proper par levels to minimize food waste and optimize food cost.
  • Fosters open communication with kitchen and FOH staff.
  • In the absence of the General Manager and as acting Manager on Duty, oversees the entire Container and Tasting Room operation.
  • Works with General Manager on development of and execution of static menu items, creating standardized recipes.
  • Foster farmer/chef partnerships within local community
  • Develop and cost catering menu, ska-b-que specials
  • Coordinate with GM and marketing team on upcoming functions, catering events, happy hour promotions
  • Conduct daily menu meetings with BOH/FOH staff
  • Menu development/R&D/Costings
  • Conduct PM on refrigeration/walk-ins, oversee deep clean schedule including grease trap
  • Able to work 40–50-hour work weeks. As well as different times of day (morning/mid/night shifts).

Our tasting room features flagships, seasonal and unique beers only a few ever get to try. It’s a modern-day tasting room experience with a casual dining atmosphere.
