A Word About ‘Gluten-Reduced’ and ‘Gluten-Free’

Ska Beers are brewed with barley – a gluten-based ingredient – they’re not considered “gluten-free.”

In the U.S., if a product is crafted using any ingredient that contains gluten at any point in the process, it cannot be labeled “gluten-free.” Alternatively, in the EU, products can be labeled “gluten-free” if the finished product falls below a gluten threshold of 20ppm. Due to our brewing process, all of our non-hazy beers are crafted to break down gluten. For example, True Blonde, Ska Lager, and the Mexican Logger are ‘gluten reduced’ and fall below a gluten threshold of 20ppm.
Long story short – Ska beers are not considered gluten-free, but the non-hazy beers have less gluten. Everyone has different levels of sensitivity, so proceed with caution!
